Hiker’s Peril Falls

Waterfall GPS: 34.99738, -83.05471

Water source: Unmapped tributary to East Fork Chattooga River

Waterfall height: approximately 25-30 feet

This waterfall is very low flow, so plan to visit after a good rain. In recent years past, this waterfall was completely covered in deadfall and overgrowth. Now, however, there it is clear, with a new sign!

Parking: Going north on Highway 107, park at the Sloan Bridge parking area and trailhead, GPS 35.00346, -83.05448.

Hike: The hike to Hiker’s Peril Falls is approximately .7 mile one way, along the Foothills Trail. There is a footbridge directly over the stream in front of the waterfall. Along the way, you will pass by Sloan Bridge Falls and a smaller waterfall on the East Fork of the Chattooga.
