Water source: Flat Shoals
I normally wouldn’t include a shoals, but since Maxie Duke had this documented in her book, I wanted to include it here. It is a very scenic place along the creek, and very easy to get to.
Parking: From Highway 11, turn onto Baumgardner Drive as if going to the Tamassee DAR School. Park at the bridge and follow the path down to the shoals. This property does belong to the DAR School, so please be aware of that if you visit. I did not see any no trespassing signs on my last visit.
Use caution! Please be mindful that the rocks here can be slippery, and this can be a very dangerous place if water levels are high.
